The Ramada, like the Howard Johnson across the street, was recently converted from a rooming house into a tourist hotel. The location is convenient for exploring downtown and Yaletown, as well as Granville Island or Kitsilano, but South Granville, though safe, is not a scenic or shopping area, so if urban grit is not your thing, don't book here. The motel-like rooms have dark-wood furniture and small desks. For any kind of view, ask for a room facing Granville; otherwise, you may be looking out at a wall. Suites feature a sofa bed, kitchenette, and small dining area, making them useful for families. Guests have full access to a nearby sports club.
