Though it lacks the charm of our previous selection, this is a well-run chain hotel with comfortable bedrooms. Its major advantage is that it lies adjacent to the Göta Canal, only 1.5km (1 mile) south of the center. A four-story hotel built in 1977, it has been renovated several times since and has kept up-to-date with modern comforts. Inside you'll find colorful public areas. Bedrooms are angular and modern looking, with somewhat spartan lines that are softened by ample use of wood-veneered panels and spaces that seem a bit larger than they are, thanks to large mirrors. Bathrooms, though small, are spotless and contain tub/showers. As a member of a chain, it benefits from a cooperative and well-trained staff.
