Frommer's Review
The big selling point here: It's the only hotel in Venice with rooms overlooking St. Mark's (technically, the Piazza San Marco, so what you see are the pinnacles and domes on the side of the cathedral). All rooms are non-smoking, and most rooms are 18th-century Venetian period style, done in a floral motif, with ornate little writing desks, gilt mirrors, and Murano chandeliers. Some are done in a slightly scuffed Empire style, with a day bed in the little sitting area. Bathrooms are red marble, and though all rooms are perfectly nice, the Concordia really is all about those precious 15 rooms overlooking the Piazzetta and the Duomo. Of these, four sets of double rooms share a common door to the hallway, meaning they can be closed off and linked to make family suites. You have to tackle 27 steps before reaching the reception area and its elevator. If you ask, the hotel will provide you with a coupon for 10% off your bill at the parking garage in Piazzale Roma. The hotel restaurant, La Piazzetta, offers Venetian cuisine.
