Frommer's Review
This 19th-century neo-Gothic palace is one of the best values on the prime real estate of the Riva degli Schiavoni. Tchaikovsky wrote his Fourth Symphony in room no. 108. Accommodations are cushy, with lacquered furniture, and attic rooms are most romantic. With 100 windows overlooking the San Marco basin, from the "deluxe" rooms you can enjoy people-watching as well as distant vistas of the lagoon. Quieter, cheaper "superior" rooms look out on the inner courtyard. The restaurant, Do Leoni, is one of the best hotel dining rooms in town. The lobby and ground floor salons were redesigned by the same architect who does Versace boutiques.
