New owners have created a pretty little hotel in this Venetian red palazzo, parts of which date from the 1400s, although everything has been renovated in 18th-century Venetian style. The wisteria vine partially covering the facade is at its glorious best in May or June, but the Fiorita is excellent year-round, as much for its simply furnished rooms boasting new bathrooms (now with hair dryers) as for its location on a campiello off the grand Campo Santo Stefano. Room nos. 1 and 10 have little terraces beneath the wisteria pergola and overlook the campiello; they can't be guaranteed on reserving, so ask when you arrive. Each of the two rooms with shared bathrooms has its own private facilities down the hall. Just a few meters away is Ca' Morosini (tel. 041-241-3800; fax 041-522-8043; www.camorosini.com), the Fiorita's three-star annex. There you'll find more rooms with views of the campo.
