Frommer's Review
Though the 1997 fire at La Fenice opera house doused this neighborhood's spark, it's now back to business as usual at the Gallini. The amiable Ceciliati brothers, Adriano and Gabriele, have been at the helm since 1952 and offer four floors (no elevator) of bright, spacious rooms and big, modern bathrooms. Ten rooms overlook narrow Rio della Verona, and a few have air-conditioning (for which there may be a small daily fee). Though there's nothing wrong with it in particular, the place is charmless, but it's the largest hotel I suggest in this area, and therefore a good moderately priced choice when the smaller options are full. The housekeeping staff seems to be forever cleaning. Rich-looking marble floors in green, red, or speckled black alternate with intricate parquet to lend an old-world air.
