Above one of the most elegant supermarkets in Europe is a superb dining room serving excellent cuisine paired with an unrivaled wine list. It's the most sought-after of the three elements within the Julius Meinl trio, which includes, on the same premises, one of the most comprehensive delicatessens and wine shops in Austria, as well as a cellar wine bar. The restaurant has big-windowed views that sweep out over the all-pedestrian grandeur of the Graben. With black-and-white wood paneling and plushly cushioned booths and benches, it's sophisticated and cozy. Dishes might include crayfish with passionfruit yogurt and cardamom or a Filet Wellington "à la Meinl" with truffles, mushrooms, and Cipollini. For dessert consider a blood orange-and-cranberry parfait or a "Meinl's Mohr" coffee tarte. Reservations are recommended.
