Barlovento

Barlovento is a perfect distillation of Viña's thoroughly modern night scene. The menu features casual, well-prepared dishes that are ideal for late night munchies and shared plates. There are a few heartier dishes, such as a very cheesy onion soup, fettuccine with seafood, and ginger-marinated salmon, but stick to what Barlovento does best: wraps, sandwiches, salads, and appetizer platters to share among friends. Another major draw for Barlovento is that the bartenders here really know how to make a proper cosmopolitan, dry martini, and a Bloody Mary, a skill not often well honed in Chile. Barlovento's minimalist look of cement, steel, glass, and wraparound windows is quite the architectural anachronism. Barlovento's live DJ music on weekends packs in a young, lively adult crowd of hipsters. If you are in the mood for something a little more refined, there is a subterranean wine cellar for tastings.
