Frommer's Review
Viña's newest world-class hotel flung open its doors with grand fanfare in 2006, promising luxury, sweeping ocean views, a state-of-the-art spa and fitness center, and an endless range of high-end services. The hotel hugs the shore and is located across from Viña's famous flower clock, about a 10-minute walk to beachfront restaurants. The Sheraton glitters in white-and-glass minimalism, yet the hotel's sleek packaging and voluminous public spaces accented with little or no furniture creates an air of alienation. This is not a place where you will experience personalized service; rather, it is difficult to shake the feeling that anyone knows you're there.
The hotel's exquisite furniture was imported from Brazil, yet the echoing interiors and glossy floors make the furniture feel vaguely Crate and Barrel. On the other hand, the Sheraton's guest rooms are gorgeous and plush, and they seductively entice you to linger in the room longer than you normally would at any given hotel. Every detail, from the complimentary chocolates and the silky cotton sheets to the marble inlaid bathrooms and the pricey, stylish furniture, is impeccable. All guest rooms come with ocean views, with small terraces (if your terrace does not have chairs, ask for them). Book a corner room facing Valparaíso for additional privacy. If you're a spa lover or are seeking pool time, this is your place. Call or check their website for off-season discounts and special promotions.
