Bitter End Yacht Club Review

This place is the liveliest of the B.V.I. resorts, and is even better equipped than the more exclusive Biras Creek. It's the best sailing and diving complex in the British chain, opening onto an unspoiled, secluded deepwater harbor, accessible only by boat. Guests have unlimited use of the resort's million-dollar fleet and a complimentary introductory course at the Nick Trotter Sailing and Windsurfing School. The Bitter End has informal yet elegant accommodations in either a hillside chalet or a well-appointed beachfront or hillside villa overlooking the sound. All villas have two twins, two queen-size, or a king-size bed, plus a shower with sea views and a patio or veranda.

For something novel, stay aboard a 9m (30-ft.) yacht, yours to sail, complete with dockage and daily maid service, meals in the Yacht Club dining room, and overnight provisions. Each yacht has a shower and can comfortably accommodate four.

First-rate meals are available in the Clubhouse Steak and Seafood Grille, the English Carvery, and the Pub, and entertainment is provided by a steel-drum or reggae band.

Facilities:
3 restaurants; pub; babysitting; exercise room; pool (outdoor); watersports equipment/rentals

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
