Travel Agents

Travel agents can save you plenty of time and money by hunting down the best package deal or airfare. For the time being, most travel agents charge you nothing for their services -- they're paid through commissions from the airlines and other agencies. However, most airlines have cut commissions, and increasingly, agents are finding they have to charge customers fees. Some unscrupulous agents might offer you only the travel options that bag them the juiciest commissions. Shop around and ask hard questions. The best way to use a travel agent is to make preliminary decisions using this guide, and go into your meeting as a smart and informed consumer.
