Frommer's Review
This converted 17th-century farmhouse may be a 10-minute walk from the city, but it's got great countryside views, and Mario Nencini, an ex-trattoria owner, is passionate about wine and keeps a private -- and recently renovated -- enoteca downstairs (put together a group of at least six hotel guests for a tasting with snacks). In 2000, Mario overhauled the rooms in the original building with unvarnished wood furnishings and antique-style painted wood bed frames, but the brown tiled bathrooms are beginning to age. Rooms in the newer wing, which wrap around the pool, feature stylish wood units, carpeting, colorful bedspreads, and firmer mattresses. Ground-floor rooms of this newer wing are larger, with independent entrances (note that the reception closes 12:30am-7am) but no real views.
Facilities:
Restaurant; outdoor pool; concierge; tour desk; courtesy car; 24-hr. room service (breakfast and bar); laundry service; same-day dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms
