Here's a park that's easier to manage in 1 day.

Remember our advice on making Advance Dining Reservations (tel. 407/939-3463 or via the Disney World app) if you want to eat at a waiter-served restaurant in the park. The Hollywood Brown Derby is a decent sit-down restaurant.

The most popular place in the park is Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, back and to the left as you enter the park, and its most popular ride is Rise of the Resistance. Lines are intense first thing in the day but simmer down somewhat as time goes by (so long as the ride is functioning properly). Also don't miss Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

The second-most popular ride is probably Slinky Dog Dash, the easygoing roller coaster of Toy Story Land. Nearby, the carnival-style whip ride Alien Swirling Saucers can be done anytime during the day, as the ride is in relatively low demand. Both queues are outdoors or otherwise not air-conditioned, so you may want to avoid them at the hottest hours of the day.

In the Chinese Theater, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway is colorful, buoyant, and one of the park's biggest winners.

Head to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The high-voltage drop ride is not for the very young or faint of heart. The same goes for the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, which blends incredible takeoff speed with three inversions. The park is small, so backtracking isn't as much of a concern here. Consider passing up attractions that have long lines, or use Fastpass+ where you can. Lines aren't usually awful at Star Tours, the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, but Toy Story Mania is enormously popular.

Jim Henson's Muppet*Vision 3-D is a must for the young (in years or yearnings).

With luck, you'll make it through most of the above before a late lunch at the 50's Prime Time Café, where the food is so-so, but the experience is . . . well, surreal.

Check your show schedule for favorites such as Disney Junior Dance Party! (which is great for little kids) and Beauty and the Beast. At night, do not miss Fantasmic! or, if it's running the evening spectacular that's projected on the Chinese Theater.
