Frommer's Review
This restaurant, set inside a re-created 14th century castle, now features Princess Storybook character meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Here you can sample from an all-you-can eat feast of traditional Norwegian fare, making it a bargain for big eaters. It is also reasonably good food, though some diners will find it difficult to adapt to Scandinavian taste. An impressive smorgasbord of smavarmt (hot) and koldtbord (cold) dishes, including baked salmon with spicy mustard, fresh poached cod, braised lamb and cabbage, and venison stew are among the choices at lunch and dinner. Kids can choose from more familiar options such as grilled chicken, salmon, pasta, hot dogs, pizza, pasta, and turkey sandwiches. The biggest draws are the Disney princesses (excluding Cinderella) that make their way around the hall, stopping at each table to say hello. The staff is friendly, and the white-stone interior, beamed ceilings, leaded-glass windows, and archways add to the authentic atmosphere. Norwegian beer and aquavit complement a list of French and California wines. Note: The popular Princess breakfast includes primarily American fare.
