Frommer's Review
Here's a truly unique and worthwhile dining experience. This restaurant's warm and welcoming atmosphere, evoking an African marketplace, is enhanced by colorful banners strewn from high above. An authentic thatched roof and large wooden tabletops made from tremendous tree trunks add to the impressive decor. In front of the open exhibition kitchen is an incredible buffet of international cuisine featuring authentic dishes from more than 50 African nations. A wood-burning grill sends delicious aromas wafting throughout the room, enticing diners to try some of the more diverse delicacies. Adventurous diners can expect such treats as Moroccan seafood salad (mussels, scallops, shrimp, and couscous), curried coconut seafood stew, chicken pepper pot soup, and much more. The watermelon rind salad is a specialty and is both delicious and refreshing -- just don't forget to save room for the yummy desserts. Kids with less sophisticated taste buds can dine on traditional American favorites. There's also a breakfast buffet (try the specialty juices -- they're delicious).
Tip no. 1: If there's something you particularly like, just ask for the recipe -- Disney is surprisingly good about sharing their culinary secrets. Tip no. 2: Most tables here seat larger parties, so couples or single diners may end up waiting longer for a table.
