Waiorau Homestead

This gorgeous old homestead, tucked into an idyllic rural setting near Cardrona Alpine Resort, has had a modern makeover that attends to every traveler’s needs. Blyth Adams (a chef) and Anne Lockhart offer four large, beautifully appointed guest rooms (three with en-suite bathroom; one with access to a private bathroom). The room with the private bathroom is the largest; and the separate smaller room right beside the swimming pool is the most fun. They are 20 minutes from Wanaka, but once you get here you won’t want to leave anyway -- especially once you sit down to one of Blyth’s meals. It’s farther out than Riverrun or Maple Lodge and has a more intimate B&B atmosphere.
