The Graham Georgetown is named for the inventor of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell, who once lived and worked nearby (who knew?). The seven-story hotel holds 57 rooms, nearly half of them deluxe guest rooms with a king bed; the rest are suites, either junior or full, each with a king bed. Largest are king suites, which have an extra-large pullout sofa in the adjacent living room. Each unit is similarly and stylishly decorated in shades of grays, whites, and pale blue, with white, tufted-leather headboards on beds made up in Irish linens. The pretty bathrooms feature white marbled floors and walls, Mexican accent tiles, and L’Occitane amenities. On the lower level lies the restaurant, the Alex Craft Cocktail Cellar & Speakeasy (after you-know-who). The seasonal (spring through fall) rooftop lounge offers one of the best views in town; it wraps around the building, so you’re able to take in Georgetown and the cityscape, including the Washington Monument. The bar attracts a sea of scene-seeking Washingtonians, which means 1) you must reserve a spot, and 2) you might want to consider wearing something trendy, though not too trendy: There is a dress code!
