Traditional and contemporary Peruvian dishes are on the menu at this affordable new restaurant in the heart of Adams-Morgan, including three versions of cebiche (fish marinated in lime juice); causa (a dish made with mashed potatoes stuffed with chicken); and quinoa salad, which tosses the quinoa (grain) with chickpeas, tahini, and lime juice. Las Canteras is a pretty restaurant, decorated with colorful Peruvian fabrics, handcrafted wrought-iron chandeliers, and photographs on the walls of Machu Pichu and other Andean landmarks. Head here Tuesday through Thursday night at 5pm to receive the early bird special, a three-course meal for $20.
