Frommer's Review
Cleveland Park is an upscale residential community of old streets lined with towering trees and Victorian houses. A preponderance of wonks, intellects, and journalists live here with their families. It's an unlikely mecca for the wild-and-crazy 20-something crowd, but thanks to a stretch of Connecticut Avenue between Porter and Macomb streets, where a number of hot bars and restaurants lie, that's what it's become -- a mini-mecca, let's say. In the middle of this designated hot zone lies Indique, a two-story, glass-fronted Indian restaurant that's quite the scene. Partiers on the weekend pack the downstairs bar area, drinking pomegranate martinis. Diners without reservations, and even sometimes those with reservations, wait for tables to become available upstairs, downstairs, wherever. Indian cuisine happens to be in vogue at the moment, but regardless, Indique's is very good. Come here for the Cornish hen curry, vegetable samosas, and tandoori shrimp.
