Bourbon Steak Review

This is one of D.C.'s hippest dining rooms. The Four Seasons' primary restaurant lies at street level, at the back and center of the property, overlooking the C&O Canal. To reach it, you must first thread your way past the vintage Ferraris and Rolls Royces jamming up the driveway, then enter the hotel and go past the dueling reception desks until you reach the lounge, then the restaurant. Everyone is here: Angelina Jolie, Andrea Mitchell, Oprah, Owen Wilson, Senator Mark Warner. And now you. Pat yourself on the back: You have arrived. So sit down and get to it: the duck topped with seared foie gras, lamb loin with pomegranate marinade, lobster pot pie, and Japanese Kobe steak. Delicious. From the staff in the open kitchen, to the tables for two and four and eight, to the partiers out in the lounge, everyone's having a good time. That's really what it's all about here: great food, good stories, and fun. Enjoy.

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
