Frommer's Review

This contemporary property offers complimentary wired Internet access, a 650-square-foot fitness center, and an unbeatable location close to both the convention center and the Verizon Center. Add in reasonable rates and fine hotel amenities and you've got a good choice for both business and leisure visitors.

A recent refurbishment gives a stylish, retro look to the guest rooms, with the help of lots of earth tones, leather, tweeds, and modern furniture. Bedding is new, too, and now features the "Four Points" custom-designed, multilayered, pillow-top mattress. Guests have a choice of rooms with two double beds or one king-size bed. Corner rooms (there are only about 10) are a little more spacious than others. Be forewarned: These book first, so they are seldom available. While guest rooms offer city views, the rooftop pool and lounge present a wider vista of the city.

Amenities: Restaurant (seasonal American); bar; indoor heated pool on rooftop; 24-hr. fitness center; complimentary Internet service in lobby; gift shop; room service (during restaurant hours); same-day laundry service; dry cleaning; executive-level rooms; 5 rooms for those w/limited mobility, 2 w/roll-in showers.

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
