Georgetown Inn Review

This hotel is in the thick of Georgetown. Come the third weekend in May, the hotel is full of the proud parents of students graduating from blocks-away Georgetown University. (The hotel books up quickly for graduation weekend, accepting reservations June 1 of the preceding year.) Its location is what best recommends the hotel, so if you're here to shop, visit the university, or do business in Georgetown, this is a good pick.

Guest room decor is traditional American, heavy on the dark woods with pretty sage-green accents. About one-third of the rooms hold two queen beds; the others have a king- or queen-size bed. Ask for an "executive room" if you'd like a sitting area with pullout sofa. Best are the 10 one-bedroom suites, in which bedroom and large living room are separate. All bathrooms have showers, some also have tubs, and some even have bidets. The hotel is nonsmoking.

Facilities:
Restaurant; bar; small exercise room; room service

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
