Frommer's Review
This sprawling hotel, built in 1965, occupies 5.5 acres. By the time you read this, the hotel will have undergone a top-to-bottom renovation, leaving no room, no surface, no space untouched. Specifically, you can count on: a saline-treated outdoor pool; bedrooms brought up to date with granite bathrooms, ergonomic chairs, dark-wood furnishings, textured wall coverings, and Hilton Serenity beds; finer amenities, like Crabtree & Evelyn soaps; and state-of-the-art technology throughout the hotel.
What won't change, however, is the neighborhood. Embassies, great restaurants, and museums are just a stroll away. The hotel's vast conference facilities, though much improved, will remain vast and will still offer one of the largest hotel ballrooms on the East Coast (it accommodates more than 4,000). And the hotel's position halfway up a hill overlooking the city means that if you stay in a southside guest room on the fifth floor or higher, you'll have panoramic views of the capital.
The Hilton caters to corporate groups, some with families in tow (during the summer, the reception desk gives families a complimentary gift and lends them board games -- ask for the "Vacation Station" perk), and is accustomed to coordinating meetings for thousands of attendees.
Facilities:
Restaurant coffee kiosk, 2 bars; concierge; concierge-level rooms; extensive health club; seasonal outdoor pool; room service

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
