Frommer's Review
This hotel gets high marks for convenience (it's right on Dupont Circle), service, and comfort. Open since 2000, the hotel is favored by business groups especially, who like its reasonable rates. A thorough renovation continues into 2008, putting an urban chic spin on guest room appearance and amenities. Among the changes are spa-style bathrooms, with heated marble floors and Kohler rain showerheads equipped with body massage features; luxurious pillow-top mattresses with down comforters, duvet covers, and bolster pillows; and LG flatscreen televisions. Each of the large rooms is furnished with two double beds with firm mattresses, a desk, and a wet-bar alcove. Despite its prime location in a sometimes raucous neighborhood, the hotel's rooms are insulated from the noise. Rooms on higher floors offer the best views of the city and of Dupont Circle. An Irish management company owns this hotel (along with two other properties in Washington, D.C.), and the comfortable and attractive hotel pub, Biddy Mulligan's, proudly features a bar imported from the Emerald Isle. Its American restaurant, Dupont Grille, provides a perfect spot to slurp a cosmo and dine on macadamia nut crusted rack of lamb, while watching an entertaining cast of Dupont Circle characters pass by. Check the hotel's website for lowest rates.
