RestaurantsThe good news is that many of Waterville Valley's accommodations include kitchens, so you can prepare your own meals. The bad news? If you want to go out, the village has a very limited selection of restaurants. The White Mountain Athletic Club facility has its own restaurant on the second floor, the Wild Coyote Grill (tel. 603/236-4919), which is one of the best; it offers a curious amalgam of hearty New England favorites (grilled venison, strip steaks, ribs, lobster and shrimp) and Asian fare (crispy tofu, hibachi-cooked chicken, spring rolls). It's not bad at all. More basic pub fare can be enjoyed seasonally (as in, ski-seasonally) at the Red Fox Tavern (tel. 603/236-8336), in the basement of The Valley Inn, and at the Mad River Tavern (tel. 603/726-4290; www.madtav.com), just off I-93 on Rte. 49 in Campton.
