The Snowy Owl will appeal to those who want the amiable character of a country inn yet prefer conveniences such as in-room hair dryers, voice mail, and (occasionally here) Jacuzzis. A modern four-story resort near Town Square with a big, brook-side lawn, this inn has nice touches like a towering fieldstone fireplace in the lobby, a handsome octagonal indoor pool, and a rooftop observatory that you reach via a spiral staircase. You also get access to a local fitness center with saunas, two Jacuzzis, and cardio equipment. The guests rooms here are a notch above basic motel units in size and decor, and a few even have kitchens.
