A less dramatic pass (1,700m/5,577 ft.) than those to the east, this makes for a pleasant drive (rather than somewhere to stop) on the 4-hour journey between Marrakech and Agadir. Intrepid trekkers with their own transport may wish to diverge from the main highway at Imi n'Tanoute to explore the remote Tichka Plateau, a beautiful area of isolated Berber villages and trekking paths far from the more established routes around Jebel Toubkal. Cafe-Restaurant Des Voyageurs, on the main road passing through Imi n'Tanoute, is a pleasant place to stop for lunch or a mint tea; it's open daily 8:30am to 11pm.
