Whistler literally overflows with dining choices: Whistler Village alone has over 90 restaurants. You'll have no trouble finding high-quality, reasonably priced food. Ingrid's Village Café, just off the Village Square at 4305 Skiers Approach (tel. 604/932-7000), is a locals' favorite for simple, homelike food, for both quality and price. A large bowl of Ingrid's clam chowder costs just C$5 (US$5/£2.50), while a veggie burger comes in at C$6 (US$6/£3). It's open daily 8am to 6pm.
The Citta Bistro, in the Whistler Village Square (tel. 604/932-4177), serves thin-crust pizzas such as the Californian Herb, topped with spiced chicken breast, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh pesto, and mozzarella, as well as gourmet burgers such as the Citta Extraordinaire, topped with bacon, cheddar, and garlic mushrooms. Main courses are C$7 to C$14 (US$7-US$14/£3.50-£7); it's open daily, noon to midnight. Thai One On, 4557 Blackcomb Way, in the Le Chamois Hotel (tel. 604/932-4822), is Whistler's top Thai restaurant, with entrees from C$11 to C$21 (US$11-US$21/£5.50-£11); open daily from 5 to 10pm. The Whistler Brewhouse, 4355 Blackcomb Way (tel. 604/905-2739), is a great spot for a microbrew ale, a plate of wood-fired pizza or rotisserie chicken (C$15-C$23/US$15-US$23/£7.50-£12), and a seat on the patio; open daily 11:30am to midnight, until 1am on weekends. Sachi Sushi, 4359 Main St. (tel. 604/935-5649), is the best of Whistler's many sushi restaurants -- the udon noodles and hot pots are excellent as well. Sushi rolls cost from C$8 to C$17 (US$8-US$17/£4-£8.50); open Tuesday to Friday noon to 2:30pm and nightly 5:30 to 10pm.
