Frommer's Review
One of the very best in Whistler, Bearfoot Bistro has created an enormous following for its regional, seasonal Northwest cuisine. The emphasis is on innovation, new flavors, and unusual preparations -- in short, this a cutting edge restaurant for serious gastronomes. In the dining room, choose either three or five courses from the admirably broad menu, with selections such as confit Quebec foie gras and Atlantic lobster salad, pan-seared weather-vane scallops served with pork belly and wild chanterelle mushroom and sweet corn ragout, or wild turbot with Dungeness crab and leek ravioli with sea urchin cream. There's nothing ordinary about the food, or the wine list, which has earned awards from Wine Spectator magazine. A number of specialty tasting menus are also available. Appetizers and more casual meals are offered in the fireside room and the cozy Champagne Bar.
