Frommer's Review
A relative latecomer to the Whistler lodging scene, the all-suite Westin Resort snapped up the best piece of property in town and squeezed itself onto the mountainside at the bottom of the main ski run into the village. Both the Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas are within a few hundred yards of your doorstep. The hotel is built in the style of an enormous mountain chalet with cedar timbers and lots of local granite and basalt finishings. All 419 suites offer full kitchens, soaker tubs, slate-lined showers, and an elegant and restful decor. The beds, Westin's signature Heavenly Beds, are indeed divine. To get you going in the morning, little luxuries include a ski valet service and (no more cold toes!) a boot-warming service. That is certainly one of the reasons why, in the short period it's been open, the Westin has already grabbed several top awards. The hotel's Avello Spa is extremely well appointed for après-slope pampering, and the indoor/outdoor pool, hot tubs, steam baths, and sauna will warm up ski-weary limbs.
