Edgewater Lodge Review

This lodge has probably the most unique location of any lodging in Whistler. It sits on a jut of land that thrusts into Green Lake, a quiet 3km (1 3/4 miles) north of Whistler Village. From each room, there are gum-swallowing vistas across the lake to Wedge Mountain and the ski slopes on Whistler and Blackcomb. The intimate lodge offers personal and professional service. Half the rooms are standard hotel-style bedrooms; the other half are one-bedroom suites with a sofa bed in the sitting room. All share a large lobby guest area with couches and a huge fireplace. The Edgewater is also noteworthy for its fine Northwest cuisine dining room.

The lodge is very convenient to all-season recreation -- in summer, you can fish and boat in Green Lake, or test your drive on the adjacent Nicklaus North Golf Course. Come winter, in addition to downhill skiing, ice-skating and cross-country skiing are right out the front door -- the valley's major Nordic ski trail runs right by the property.

Facilities:
Restaurant; lounge; Jacuzzi

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
