The Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre Review

The Pan Pacific chain has two handsome properties in Whistler, both just steps off Blackcomb Way in Whistler Village. The all-suite Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre is an imposing structure with curious gables and a dormered roofline, underscoring the fact that this is anything but an anonymous corporate hotel. All in all, suites in the Village Centre are more like apartments than hotel rooms; it's also more couples-oriented than its family-friendly sister property. All one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites have a balcony, fireplace, flatscreen TV, full kitchen with granite counters, soaker tub, bathrobes, handsome furniture, and floor-to-ceiling windows to let in the amazing mountain vistas. The penthouse suites are truly magnificent, with cathedral ceilings, massive stone fireplaces, multiple balconies, and loads of room -- the Blackcomb Suite has 156 sq. m (1,679 sq. ft.)! The Village Centre has a fitness center with sauna, massage therapy and spa treatment rooms, a lap pool, and two hot tubs. Rates include a full breakfast buffet and afternoon/evening hors d'oeuvres in the Pacific Lounge, a guest-only facility with an outdoor patio.

Facilities:
Restaurant; pub; concierge; fitness center; Jacuzzi; heated outdoor pool; room service; sauna; ski, bike, and golf bag storage; rooms for those with limited mobility

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
