Snowmobiling

Snowmobilers will find nearly 6,000 miles of groomed, scenic snowmobile trails lacing the state, interconnected via a trail network maintained by local snowmobile clubs. All snowmobiles must be registered with the state; this costs $78 for nonresidents ($48 for residents) and can be done through any of the 248 off-highway recreational-vehicle agents in the state. The state's most remote, spectacular destination for snowmobilers is that nubby finger thrusting up into Canada, which is also the snowiest part of the state.
