Governor's Inn ReviewLeast expensive of the foundation's hotels, the extraordinarily well-maintained Governor's Inn is a two- and three-story, 1960s-vintage brick motel, most of whose rooms open to outdoor walkways. This not your ordinary inexpensive motel, for the rooms come stocked with thick towels and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Williamsburg posters on the walls remind you where you are. My only complaint was that my heating and air-conditioning unit was a bit noisy. There's an outdoor pool for cooling off. It's on the northwestern edge of the Historic Area near the Transportation Center, which means that trains come by during the night.
