More than 32,000 bottles of wine lurk in the custom-made wine cellar of this inn, which earned a coveted "Grand Award" from Wine Spectator magazine. The wine is only one of the reasons the inn consistently attracts well-heeled diners. The food is deftly prepared, with entrees ranging from pheasant breast and roasted salmon to potato-crusted sea bass with wild mushrooms. The converted barn-and-farmhouse atmosphere is romantic and the service superb, although the formality of the servers puts some relaxed folks on edge.
