Frommer's Review
The Deerhill Inn, on a hillside above Route 100 with views of the rolling mountains, was built as a ski lodge in 1954, but always helpful innkeepers Linda and Michael Anelli have given it a more gracious country gloss. In summer, it features attractive gardens and a stonework pool; in winter, the slopes are a short drive away. Guests have access to two comfortable sitting areas upstairs, stocked with a television and books. The guest rooms vary from very cozy to reasonably spacious, and most are decorated with a light country flair; four are located in a motel-like addition with balconies. The best of the lot are Rooms L1 and L2, both of which have cathedral ceilings; L2 has spare Asian decor, bamboo wallpaper, and an outside terrace; L1 features Laura Ashley-country styling. Five rooms have gas fireplaces, seven have balconies or terraces, and five have televisions. Very good dinners are served most nights in the country dining room on the first floor.
