Vintage Motel ReviewA good budget choice for those planning to spend little time in their rooms, this motel has basic rooms with industrial carpeting, durable furniture, and a few nice touches such as quilts and a family room with a microwave and VCR (1 unit with a DVD player). Bathrooms have curious 4-foot-square tubs (with showers), which are odd but appealing -- and this has got be one of the few budget motels you'll ever book that has its own driving range on-site. In winter, the place is very popular with snowmobilers (a trail passes through the backyard) and skiers. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
