Visitor Information

The Winchester/Frederick County Visitors Center, 1400 S. Pleasant Valley Rd., Winchester, VA 22601 (tel. 540/542-1326; fax 540/450-0099; www.visitwinchesterva.com), is open daily from 9am to 5pm (closed New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas). The center shows an 8-minute video about the area and a 5-minute one about the town's role in the Civil War. Take Exit 313 off I-81, go west on U.S. 50, and follow the signs.

Getting There

Primary access routes into Winchester include I-81, U.S. 11, U.S. 522, U.S. 50, and Va. 7.
