The entire hotel has undergone a massive C$15-million renovation (completed in 2008) that practically rebuilt the hotel from the inside out. Built as an apartment building, the Place Louis Riel has a great many room types, ranging from studios to one- and two-bedroom suites, all with full kitchens. Courtesy of the new renovation, corner units can expand to include two kitchens, four TVs, two bathrooms and five beds -- perfect for a large family traveling together. All rooms feature original Native Canadian art from area artists. For convenience, a laundromat, grocery store, and restaurant and lounge are on the ground floor.
