Inn at the Forks ReviewThis new hotel overlooks the Forks, the confluence of the Assiniboine and Red rivers, once the heart of a fur-trading community and now a lively market and arts venue. The Inn at the Forks is not just new, it's modern -- the decor is sleekly contemporary with light earth-tone colors and lively carpets. Guest rooms are thoughtfully furnished, with high-end linens and works by local artists, which add warmth and focus. The bathrooms feature glass countertops and upscale amenities. If you're here to work, guest rooms have large desks and leather office chairs. For more room, step up from the standard or deluxe rooms to a silver-level room -- for C$20 (US$20/£10) or so, you'll get a second TV and a parlor area. The Riverstone Spa offers upscale pampering and aesthetic treatments, plus massage, hydrotherapy, and a menu of treatments for men. The Current Restaurant, open for three meals daily, serves innovative regional cuisine. Facilities: Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. | 2 stars | Frommer's Very Highly Recommended | |
| 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
