This is just the spot for a nice dinner in the Winter Park area. The place looks like something out of a Western movie, a relic of a structure that has stood for nearly a century, but looks (and names) can be deceiving—this is no mere rustic mountain tavern. The menu changes seasonally, but you can expect a nice selection of steaks, seafood, and game. The culinary inspirations come from all over the planet. When available, you might get wild meatloaf, elk, boar, and buffalo, with a balsamic ketchup glaze, or a knockout green chile paella with a half lobster and saffron rice. To top it off, the Mudslide Pie, with an Oreo crust barely holding in the praline ice cream, bananas, and hot fudge, is one decadent dessert.
