Although the Wild Horse Inn was built in 1991, the pine logs used in it are over 400 years old, giving the place the feel of an 1800s mountain lodge. With rooms in the main house and a strip of adjacent one-bedroom cabins (with kitchenettes) to choose from, guests are treated to woodsy accommodations with pizzazz, complete with jetted tubs and balconies. Innkeepers Chris French and John Cribari are a gourmet chef and a licensed massage therapist, respectively, and both leverage their skills to their utmost: Chris oversees the gourmet breakfasts while John is the prime masseur in the inn's three massage rooms. The couple also owns the Snowberry Bed & Breakfast in Fraser (tel. 970/726-5974; www.thesnowberry.com).
