Only a few hundred yards from downtown Winthrop, this motel on the bank of the Methow River feels as if it is miles from town. Its rooms all have balconies overlooking the river, with the mountains visible across the valley. Rustic peeled-log furniture made by a local craftsman gives the large rooms a Western feel. Aside from the riverside location, the best reason to stay here is the small indoor swimming pool and hot tub. The River Run Inn also rents out cabins and a large house.
