Frommer's Review
Bentley's adopts an affluent English gentleman's club feel and offers Woodstock's best choice for lunch. The dining room, located beyond an Anglophilic bar, affects a Victorian elegance, but not ostentatiously so. Lunch is the time for one of their juicy burgers or creative sandwiches (grilled chicken in mango sauce with almonds, anyone?). The dinner menu leans more toward resort standards such as chicken and shrimp pescatore or steak flambéed with Jack Daniels, but also cracks its doors to slightly more ambitious fare, such as farm-raised duck with apricot and plum sauce. It's very often quite crowded at night, so reserve ahead if you can. At the fine brunch on Sunday, order the New England corned beef hash with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Stick around late enough on weekend evenings and you might witness a startling transformation: Tables are swept off a dance floor, the ceiling rolls back to reveal high-tech lighting, and Bentley's becomes the place to dance the night away. The adjacent ice-cream parlor makes good milkshakes.
