Frommer's Review
It takes a bit of sleuthing to find this spot, down Dana Alley (next to the Woodstock Historical Society's Dana House), but it's worth the effort. This is one of Woodstock's best dining rooms, in an intimate but surprisingly informal setting. It's a bit more casual than most of the other restaurants in town. Ease into your evening with a libation in the taproom, then move to the rustic yet elegant little dining room. The good-value fixed-price menu (which doesn't include dessert) changes often. You might start with Maine smoked salmon over toast, lobster ravioli, or French onion soup spiked with Vermont apple cider, then move on to five-spiced duckling, filet mignon with peppercorn sauce, grilled ahi tuna from Hawaii with Asian spices, or the house specialty: a boneless rack of lamb baked in puff pastry with spinach and mushroom d'Uxelles. Those on a tight budget can enjoy the lounge and the bistro menu, which is available daily except Saturdays and on holidays -- it's full of good stuff like pulled-pork sandwiches, pizzas, steaks, fish, and crab cakes.
