Wild Grass is located east of town on Route 4 in a small business complex that lacks the quaintness of much of the rest of Woodstock -- yet the food rises above the prosaic surroundings with a menu that contains genuinely creative offerings and good value for this often overpriced town. Especially appealing are the unique crispy sage leaves with tangy dipping sauces, served as an appetizer. Fish is grilled to perfection here, and sauces are pleasantly zesty. Other entrees include roast duckling with cabernet whipped potatoes, jerked chicken, ancho chili-rubbed filet tenderloin, and, for vegetarians, a rich vegetable ragout with walnut oil and chervil.
