Frommer's Review
The convenient Shire Motel is within walking distance of the green and the rest of the village, and with its attractive Colonial decor, it's better appointed than your average motel. Rooms are bright and have more windows than you might expect, most facing the river that runs behind the property. (The downside: some thin bed sheets and scuffed walls.) At the end of the second-floor porch is an outdoor kitchen where you can sit on rockers overlooking the river and enjoy a cup of coffee. The yellow clapboard house next door has three spacious and modern suites, all with gas fireplaces and Jacuzzis.
