Behind the resort coach park (the one with the ornate public restroom -- why is it that public restrooms showcase some of the best architecture in China?), a road leads up into a strange concrete spiral and onto a ticket office for the Jade Peak. The rocky ledge just behind the ribbon cascade is my favorite place to chill out. The pool is a great spot for some meditation and contemplation as the falling torrent sways rhythmically back and forth between the pair of stone monks. Steps down to the outer rim even encourage some paddling. The path rises another 2 hours up to the double bamboo peaks, but be warned that none of these paths seem to have guardrails and some areas are not in the best condition.
