Planning a Trip

Visitor Information -- For advance information, contact York County Tourism and Events, P.O. Box 523, Yorktown, VA 23690 (tel. 757/890-3300; www.yorkcounty.gov/tourism).

Getting There & Getting Around -- The easiest and most scenic way here from Williamsburg is via the picturesque Colonial Parkway. From Norfolk or Virginia Beach, take I-64 West to U.S. 17 North and follow the signs to Yorktown. Park free in the garage at the Yorktown Riverwalk Landing on Water Street.

A good alternative to driving here from Williamsburg during the summer is the Historic Triangle Shuttle. Once you're here, the free Yorktown Trolley makes nine stops along the waterfront and in the village from mid-March through October, every 20 to 25 minutes daily.
