Local companies Flanders Battlefield Tours, Slachthuisstraat 58 (tel. 057/36-04-60; www.ypres-fbt.be), and Salient Tours, c/o British Grenadier Bookshop, Meensestraat 5 (tel. 057/21-46-57; www.salienttours.com), both run minibus tours of the battlefields and memorials, departing from the Grote Markt or the Menen Gate, and ranging from 2 hours to half a day. Prices are from 30€ to 35€ ($48-$56). The tourist office can furnish a package for the In Flanders Fields Route, a self-guided tour of 80km (50 miles) on signposted roads that covers all the main sights.
